Just one, really:
To use up my craft and sewing stash and refrain from buying new stuff for the entire year.
This includes all the various pieces in my fabric stash, craft supplies, and craft and sewing books.
Before Christmas, as the economy was heading down the toilet, I stepped back and took a look at all the stuff I had. I have a lot of stuff. I’ve been collecting craft and sewing stuff for at least 25 years. Maybe longer. The stash reduction contest this past summer inspired me to take that idea a step further. I don’t need to buy new supplies. I need to use what I have.
Realistically, I expect to get through about 6 months of crafting and sewing from my stash. Then I’ll have a new little baby to deal with, along with my adorable preschooler. I expect I’ll have to put a bit of that on hold for a while. To keep me honest, I’ll post my progress here and you can read along. Are you working from your stash? What’s the oldest piece you have in your stash? What creative challenges are you facing with dealing with your stash? Do share.

Happy New Year! Happy various holidays since the new year started.
I admit this blog has been left unattended for quite some time (embarassingly). I’ve been meditating and ruminating over what to do with it, what I want it to be, and how I want to focus it. I’ve decided to make LittleBerryStudio my web site for all things creative and hands-on, in a crafty sort of way. But also in an artsy sort of way, and maybe even a digital sort of way. I like making things. And trying out new things to make. I’d like to share the things I make (my projects) and how I make them (patterns and tutorials) with you in the craft world. LittleBerryStudio will be my place to share these things with you.
Currently, I’m working on a new design for this site. I was going to wait to post anything until the new design is completed. But it isn’t going as fast as I would like. Keep an eye out for the new look. I’m aiming for the end of the month to have it done.
Best wishes to all and may the worst of this year better than the best of last year.

I thought I would celebrate the new year with a tutorial for creating ribbons or streamers using Adobe Illustrator. The key to this technique is the calligraphy brush. You can adapt this technique to any graphics program that supports calligraphy-style brushes. Let’s get started….
